Pete the Vet

I found a link and followed it, to this article about growing 'meat' in a laboratory. This link is against the idea. But that is the logical direction for organ replacement, life extension and longevity, and animal rights.

I love that photo, too bad it isn't a desktop background!

This is the blog that had the link, which I fetched,

This about the gov finally getting around to regulating the dog industry.

I do hope the gov in the US doesn't rush into it and try to do it in one fell swoop.

Neither the gov here, or the public, understand the issues, or has a big picture on just how the dog industries are in the real world - just because an industry isn't regulated by the gov, doesn't mean that some group(s) isn't(aren't) controlling it.

I believe that much of what is put out as "information" about dogs in the US, is really just a bunch of selfish propaganda.

I believe that the best thing for American government to do is to regulate the number of unfixed dogs allowed per residence/ per property, and per person.

Different numbers for different place. 1 or 2 unfixed dog per property in some place, like NYC. But maybe 12 unfixed dogs in some other areas.

Or if puppymills with 100 to 1,000 dogs have already settled in your area, then limits of 50 unfixed dogs, might be the best you can do.

You could have weighed limits, if there are too many large dogs at the pound being killed, for example: No more than 2 unspayed/ un-neutered dogs, who are over 5 months , and over 20 pounds and/or over 15 inches at the top of the withers.

You could silence many of the complaints about limit laws just be removing dog breeding as a tax shelter.
