Euro Dogs

Did you know that things are done differently in Europe than in the US?

I knew a woman who moved here from Europe. She took her big dog into the bank with her and was angry that the bank staff told her she had to leave.

She thought that the bank was picking an her. She said her dog was big but well behaved, and was sitting at heel. She was shocked to find out that dogs weren't allowed in stores.

Though a child translating, I was told that where she comes from, they even take their dogs into restaurants and food stores - except in the food store, the dogs have to ride in the shopping cart.

The child said that everybody has a mat that they keep in the car, and they bring the mat out of the car and put it into the shopping cat, so the dog doesn't sit on wire.

She said that her neighbor has 3 dogs, and he puts all 3 of them in one shopping cart, and his wife pushes the other shopping cart with the food in it.

Cool. Real cool. What would I trade for that?

The girl translating said a neighbor had his dogs removed permanently, and he was arrested because his dogs barked at people as they walked by his house when he wasn't home. It seems that even if your dogs are inside of your fence, they are not allowed to be mean.

But you can take your dogs out to eat with you - but the dogs have to stay under the table, not laying in the aisle. Cool.
