Harliquin

Harlequin refers to the patterns of clown costumes.

Sometime a bunch of different colors, but often only two colors that alternate, like one side of a shirt would be blue & the other side red. But the sleeve on the red side would be blue, and the sleeve an the blue side would be red.

In dogs merle can be called harlequin, but it is especially so called in the US if another gene washes out the grey making it white.
