BREEDS & GROUPS

I learned by making flash cars of the breeds.

Then I realized that the way breeds were grouped was wrong.

So I re-grouped them in what turned out to be an order of neoteny.

Which, strangely, covetailed exactly with observable types of breeds.

I guess that the reason we have different breeds, is because they are

natural stages in wolves.

It is NOT an artificial grouping - that is how the breeds natural fall

when you sort dog flash cards. (Provided you know dogs.)

But then, I realized that few collies still herded sheep,

few bloodhounds still tracked people, few cartdogs still pullled milkcarts.

So I regrouped them again, spinning off the dogs that still worked or hunted,

the field-bred dogs into their own Kingdoms, then made newer Kingdoms

for all the newer needs we have for dogs.

PROFESSIONS

So I wrote up my totally new way - a new pardigm.

But then I realized that most of my new way,

might be a return to how it was 200 years and more ago.

BLEND

We still have dogs that hunt the way they have for ages.

But we need newer criteria for breeding dogs.

Yes, we need to breed for health & temperament!

But we need to give breeders a goal.

We need to give breeders a test to judge their dogs by.

We need to have talent shows for dogs,

because we have people who want to go to dog shows

and compete with their dogs, and breed more dogs to win.

If we do NOT have talent shows, dog breeders will use some silly & harmful way

of deciding what dog to breed.

We have to make it very easy for dog breeders to judge their breeding stock

in a way useful to society.

In other words, we are having trouble putting the brakes on this mess,

so let's focus on steering instead, because that is something

the club can do. (Only the government can put on the brakes).
